World War II AT-6 at Marco Airport

In June of 2000 I retired from teaching (33 years 1967 to 2000) at Meramec College in St. Louis, Missouri so that I could move to Pelican Bay Florida. I am currently a Professor Emeritus of Sociology and Anthropology at Meramec College.

Since I retired and moved to Florida I have had the time to follow some of my other interest.  I  like to walk on the beach and berm (4 to 6 miles) every day. I am interested in the internet and I have put together several different web sites. If you would like to visit some of my other web sites I have put links to some of my other web sites lower in this page. I am also interested in photography.  I like to take photographs of nature. I am also interested in digital still and video photography.  In 2002 I quit doing film photography and currently only do digital. When I lived in Missouri I was involved in the study and exploration of caves. I was elected as a "Fellow" in the National Speleological Society (NSS11735F).  I am also interested in Astronomy.  Currently I am a volunteer at The Conservancy of Southwest Florida.  I was named Volunteer of the month in July 2003 (The conservancy has over 700 volunteers). I lead Nature Walks in Pelican Bay on Wednesday at 9:00am. from December to April.  In October of 2005 I completed the Florida Master Naturalist course in Coastal Systems of the University of Florida. I was the Chairperson of the Pelican Bay Beach Berm and Boardwalk Advisory Group.  From 2005 through 2008 I served as volunteer "Botanical Guide at the Naples Zoo. I am the Chairman of the Pelican Bay Ad-hoc Environmental Committee. I serve on the Pelican Bay Member Policies & Relations Committee.  I was appointed by the Collier County Board of Commissioners  to serve as a director on the Board of the Pelican Bay Services Division for a 4 year term ending March 31 2013. In November of 2010 I was elected (38,000 votes 53%) to a 2 year term as a supervisor on the Collier County Soil and Water Conservation District Board .
